Having retired from the first race Mike was on the back row of the grid for race 2 and from the first lap he began to scythe through the field, making up 4 places on first lap. He settled into a good rhythm and was putting in consistent laps in the 1.11-1.12s for much of the fiery half of the race. Just as a safety car came out following an accident we saw Mike dive into the pits and as the C came to a halt it was clear from the noise coming from under the car that all was not well. Fortunately a quick inspection revealed that a rose joint had broken on one of the anti tramp bars allowing the end of the bar to drag on the ground. Whilst the anti tramp setup is an integral part of the cars handling it is perfectly safe to run without it so we just removed the offending bar and mike exited the pits, although he’d come in under the safety car the delay had cost Mike a lap and despite his best efforts he finished last. Due to other retirements etc the overall result across both races was 20th of 25!
