Starting from 18th was always going to make for a challenging race, Mike was starting behind several cars that he would be faster than but the question was, how many could he pass.
He made a great start taking two places on the first lap and then proceeded to put in consistently quick laps. We called him in as soon as the pitstop window opened at 10 minutes as Mike likes to get the stop out of the way as soon as he can, he is always faster in the second stint.
The stop went well but a small delay selecting first gear cost a few seconds on the exit.
As usual Mike was quicker in the second half of the race and made it up to 13th place and was chasing for 12th on the last lap, crossing the line only 100th of a second behind.
