As usual nothing ever goes according to plan and true to form Bluebell who has been running perfectly lost power one lap into the session. Matt bought her in and the team tried to get to the bottom of what appeared to be a fuel problem. We managed to get Marky back out and he did enough laps to qualify but both drivers are required to do a minimum of 3 laps so Matt was allowed to go out in another session so that we could race. The problems seem to lie with the fuel system but apart from cleaning the carb and adjusting the float level we aren’t sure what has cured the miss fire and loss of power, all we can do is see what happens in the race. We have ended up 20th on the grid.
Mikes session was much less eventful, he took it easy to start as it was his first time on the new circuit layout and first time with the new gearbox. Towards the end of the session he opened the taps a bit and ended up 16th and most importantly ahead of the other MGC Sebring! When he came in we discovered that the car wouldn’t start but this was traced quickly the plug having come out of the back of the alternator.
