It was Matt and Mark out first in their qualifying session for the group 1 race and from the start it was a busy but not particularly satisfying session. Matt went out to start with and almost immediately the safety car was out to allow the marshalls to recover a car that had stopped on track within thew first minute of the session. After running slowly behind the safety car Bluebell took a couple of laps to clear a misfire and then having only managed a couple of clear laps it was time to swap drivers. Marks session started OK but he only got 3 laps under his belt before the red flag came out to end the session early due to another car stopped in a dangerous position. They qualified a slightly disappointing 19th out of 33 cars.
Mikes group 2 session went more according to plan, having not been in the car since October last year and with all new rear suspension it was about getting back used to the car and assessing the setup rather than trying to put in a blistering time and we know that Mike is always faster in the race than in qually. Mike was 17th on the grid.
